The Calgary Region Airshed Zone (CRAZ) provides educational workshops in Calgary and region on air quality.  The latest workshop was help in partnership with Wheatland County at the County offices on June 27th, 2017.  Transportation and Air Quality was the focus of the workshop and was well attended.

Alyssa Robb, Environmental Coordinator, Wheatland County and Jill Bloor, CRAZ Executive Director started the morning off with a welcome to attendees.  Rob Hoffman, Director of Government and Stakeholder Relations for Canadian Fuels Association was the first presenter on “Canada’s Transportation Fuels and Clean Air.”  Karl Bresee, Intrinsik shared with the group an informative presentation on “Diesel Particulate and Health Risk: What to do about it?” The workshop was an informal event that attendees and presenters had great discussions of the topics at hand.  CRAZ was pleased to have Lauren Chomyn, Senior Policy Advisor from Alberta Transportation talk about “Climate Change and Transportation.”  The final presentation was given by Alyssa Rob with Wheatland County on “Municipal Stewardship Initiatives.”

CRAZ welcomes all new ideas for presentations and presenters on air quality.  Our vision is that the regions air quality supports and fosters a healthy and vibrant population, ecosystem and economy.  One of the goals to reach our vision is to develop, promote, deliver and support programs to protect and improve regional air quality.  The workshops that CRAZ hosts helps reach the organizations goals and vision.
