The Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP) Audit Team conducted audits of the CRAZ monitoring network from August 13 to August 15, 2018. At the three continuous monitoring stations, a total of 15 analyzers and nine meteorological sensors were audited. All analyzers and meteorological sensors met audit requirements.

“For the past several years, we have been receiving extremely good marks on these annual audits. These audit results reflect our commitment to providing local ambient air monitoring data that is accurate, credible, and of high quality,” said Mandeep Dhaliwal, CRAZ’s Air Quality Program Manager.

In addition to these annual audits of the monitoring network, CRAZ conducts independent audits of its Quality Assurance Plan. Auditing is an integral part of CRAZ’s comprehensive quality assurance program. The continuous monitoring gas analyzers at our stations are challenged with known gas concentrations daily and calibrated monthly. Our monitoring data is reviewed daily. The CRAZ Technical Committee meets monthly and thoroughly reviews the monthly data reports.
